130 Something Different

I've a different finish to show you.

It's been a while since I've made a hat.

I always make them and they look so wonderful on the lovely lithe models they are shown on.

Then I put them on and as I have short hair, I end up looking like a cancer patient.

This one, despite how lovely it looks on this mannequin, looked absolutely dreadful on me.

So I'll add it to the donate pile, and I hope someone else manages to enjoy it.

Hope you're staying sane, and keeping well.

129 Spent my day sewing!

As the title suggests I managed to stitch a little today.

Not too much, mind you.  The majority of the day was spent sorting fabric into little piles.  I'd had this brilliant idea that I would not have duplicates of purples in this block:

but I also needed to have the same blacks in each block.

To add to the complication, I make two blocks at the one time, due to the Half Square triangles and the method I used to make the flying geese.  So the maths needed was difficult.  And as previously discussed, my brain is slowly turning to mush the longer this quarantining thing goes along.

But here is my end result!

Did you have a good day?  Are you still shut in or are you allowed to be out and about a little more?  We had paid to go to an AFL game before this all happened, they refunded our money the other day.  There will be no crowds at any AFL games for a long time coming, I don't think.  I wonder how that will effect everything.

Till tomorrow!

128 A Tour Around My Autumn Garden

In the absence of anything quilting related to show you, because I've been doing such interesting jobs as taking the recycling in (got $84 back, score!), please enjoy these photos of a tour around my garden.

May is such a wonderful time of year, it's sunny and light and the garden is filled with lovely, lovely colours.

I hope you're having a sunny and light filled day also!

127 Little Purses Tutorial

Hi lovely readers.

Big day today.  My baby is 12 years old, and my marriage is 25 years old.  May 6th is a lovely day in our house.

So what with the celebrating and cake baking, I didn't get much sewing done.

I've had a bit of a clear out of my sewing room, and I found some metal purse clasps, so more for my information than anyone else's I've been searching for tutorials on how to make those cute little purses.

A lot of them seem to be those weird Indian or Russian sites, that clearly have stolen the information from a proper site, so if these tutorials belong to you and you want me to credit you, please let me know.

This one is my favourite, and I think I shall use it.

This one gives excellent instructions on how to draft your own pattern.  Useful information.

And because I love these little coin purses I thought I'd want to remember this one.

Thanks for popping in.  I might play with the bottom pattern tomorrow, I think.  I have many zips in the cupboard I should use.

See you soon!

126 International Quilting Day 2019

Following on from yesterday, here are some more photos of lovely, lovely quilts.  I apologise to the poor lady whose head is in each and every photo.

That's the back of a quilt, in case it isn't clear.  That's the quilting you can see.

That's it for today!  Hope you enjoyed!
