Lucy Boston - an update!

A few weeks ago, I posted some blocks from the Lucy Boston quilt we are working on for our Raffle Quilt.

I'm pleased to say that we are now finished, and it's spectacular!

It was expertly quilted by my clever mum, and all that we have to do now is sell a million tickets.  Easy peasy!

I've never brought tickets in our own raffles before but I'm definitely going to do it this time!

Hope you're doing well, it's a glorious sunny day today - though rain would be nice!

more monsters

Have I shown you these little guys:

My monster quilt block continue to grow.  I’ve stockpiled enough for a quilt (or two) and I will slowly stitch them.  I find it best to get the mess out of the way all in one go.  Which is precisely what I have done.

It was a glorious day yesterday, almost summer.  Today it’s flipping freezing and my fingers don’t want to work.  Need to go warm them by the heater, I think!

Hope you’re all well!

another one of those quilts

Hi lovely readers.

I know you love looking at these quilts – when my mum had the chance to quilt another one I took lots of photos for you.

For the inevitable question – it’s ‘Farmyard Patches’ from www.craftcubby.com.au – enjoy!

chunky churn dash–a flimsy!

I’m getting a wriggle on and photographing all these things I want to show you – I’ve not been overly productive in the sewing room but I have been keeping up with my photos!

Some time ago, before my life got temporarily insane with birthday parties and Easter, I finished one of Quiltville’s designs.  I’m very pleased with how it worked out, and I’m really pleased with how accurately I sewed the thing!  Sometimes the quilts go together flawlessly, and sometimes they don’t.  This one really went well!

For some reason the computer won’t let me get to the bottom of the page like it usually does, so I’ll say goodbye here for now.  Also, if you’ve emailed me directly and I haven’t replied, please don’t be cross – my ipad decides which emails it will keep online for me and quite often drops them off before I’ve had a chance to reply (or sometimes even seen them)  I have to log into Hotmail to see which lovely reader writes to me, and sometimes it takes a while for me to realise that your email has been dumped.  So apologies!

Another flimsy bites the dust!

It’s been a long time since I have sat at night and stitched button hole applique.  I’ve been getting into the very bad habit of surfing the internet on my ipad which really sucks up any free time I have.  I’m trying hard now to not sit down with it, to pick up a needle instead.

And I’ve not been stitching applique much because I had been working hard on the Lucy Boston quilt our group is making, but I’m assured it’s very nearly finished now.  Will post photos as soon as I have them, it’s looking spectacular.

I did have a clean up of some random bags and found the very cute owls that I’ve mentioned before, they were so close to finishing it only took me a couple of days/nights.  And buttonhole applique is so quick!  I must admit, I’m quite fond of them.

And the new phone takes such lovely photos too!  Makes life so much easier.

So another flimsy bites the dust.  I’m actually going to quilt this one – just have to get some wadding.  I don’t keep wadding on hand and might actually have to buy some!  Shock, horror!

This fabric is mostly the cheap chinese stuff I got on Ebay (don’t buy it don’t buy it) and it creases like a you know what.  Hopefully if I quilt it properly it’ll minimise it.

That’s it for today!  Hope you’re all set for a lovely, quilty weekend!
