I’ve been plodding away for a while at the never ending pile of UFO’s, and finally – after many years I can call this one done. I’m not sure if I’ve showed you this before, and if I have, well – time to see it again!
I seriously don’t know what I will do with all of these tops. This one is too small to be anything more than an annoyance. I don’t now why I started half of these things.
It’s going to be a very hot weekend here. It was only last week we had the heater on – this weekend it’s summer weather. No wonder everyone has colds.
Have a great one!
Very pretty! and the applique was hand-done, I see. Lovely job!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about having mystery tops or even completed quilts hanging about. A while ago, I went through the quilts I had at home with an eye towards culling them. There were several that, like your Jacobean top, were really too small to DO anything with. Others were "what was I smoking?"
I created quite a pile of those kinds of quilts and they become donation quilts. That was a win/win situation ... I got rid of quilts that really didn't have any sentimental value for me and some person got a warm quilt.
The same thing still needs to be done to complete but as yet unquilted tops. But that's a totally different project. :-)
Oh, I see a table topper for the coffee table, or a base for a centerpiece for your dining table. You don't say what size it is, but could it be a lap quilt with another border added? Lots of possibilities! Love those appliques.
ReplyDeleteLovely and you have the perfect border fabric for the applique! Well done again.
ReplyDeleteWow ! Very nice,,
